great, thanks again aaron, it always seems to be you that answers my questions! im assuming 2 will be enough?

yeah i was planning on having the tubing coming from the bottle going into a Y piece then off to the 2 diffusers?

I`m not sure how successful this will be. You might find that you require a needle valve in each branch to get equal CO2 from the two diffusers.

You could always sell that head thingy in your tank and use the money to buy the needle valves. :hey:

Dave.

i didnt think it would make a difference as long as some co2 was coming from them both? or do you mean the co2 will take the easiest route and ignore the other way?

no chance! i love my head!

Also i was wondering if putting the diffusors under the filter intakes would cause a problem?

ok great, well as far as i can tell that would be the best method of getting the co2 in the water? just have to wait and see how loud it is in the filter, i would imagine it all got dissolved before it would reach the impeller though?

Also could some one tell me how i hook all this together?

This is the reg i've bought:

I've never used a bubble counter or a pressurized system before. Obviously the reg gets attached to the FE then im assuming i add the co2 tubing on top of the bubble counter (along with a non return valve) then run this to my diffusers?

Also anyone else know if im going to need a needle valve on each line if i use a Y connector? (for the 2 diffusers)

the impeller usually acts as the diffuser but it could do?

The BC you have shown has a built in non-return valve, and the gold wheel is the needle valve. You may need a valve on each because if the line is at a slight angle then more CO2 will go up the vertical one, thus less CO2 coming out the other diffuser. If you are going to be running it through your filter, wouldnt it be better just to have a single line anyway? ou can always split it at a later date.

Attach the CO2 line on top of the BC, if it has an O-ring then remove it and push the tubing as far over the end as possible - it gives a much tighter fit! Where the BC connects to the reg, you may need to put some PTFE tape on the connection to stop leaks, it isnt the best fit in the world and your bottle will soon empty, you can get it from any store that sells plumbing supplies.

make sure you check for leaks - water and soap, then brush it on the joints, you wont regret it!!!

i meant placing the diffusers under the filter intakes in the tank, not sure how i would run it direct into the filter??

yes i have 2 aquaone cf1000's running on it so i thought i could just place the diffusers under the intakes and that the co2 would be dissolved fairly quickly.

Also thinking about getting a 3rd filter on it or a powerhead to make sure theres no dead spots
