guys, i feel ashamed, my male CT is showing signs of finrot, i first noticed it a couple of days ago, so immedietly started doing a daily 25% water change to keep the water extra clean, this seamed to work, and the small pinhole on his tail fin disipierd, but now he was a hole on his top fin

what can i dose the tank with , im guessing its not going on its own so maybe i need to dose with somthing? what do people think i should use, i have a female and 4 amano shrimp in the same tank. (divided) ;)

ive tested the water with api master test kit often, everything is coming back as fine as i expected, i think this has been caused by him being stressed when first dividing the tank and introducing the female into it, he took alot longer then her to get uset to it.

any help much appreciated.

Rob :good:

Do you have plastic plants in your tank? Possibly that caused the first and now second pin hole?

My long finned double-tailed betta had a few pin holes and I just kept up with water changes and *may* IIRC began adding a touch of aquarium salt to his tank. He healed up fine.

all live plants and no sharp decor at all, infact atm, no decor took it out.

so best to just carry on with regular water changes and see what happens?

Pin holes in fins can be due to excessive flaring, I can see you recently divided the tank and added a female on the other side, he has just probably been showing off too much to her :D if he can see her that is! I would not add any medication in the tank at all just keep the water clean as you have been doing and he will be fine.
