Hi,
Now on day 28 of my fishless cycle...The first 7 days nothing happened..Then the ammonia started to drop and nitrites slowing increased.. Every 24 hours added ammonia to bring it up between 3 and 4 ...Nitrites went off the chart 7 days ago and stayed there, and Phd has remained steady at 7.4 all the time. BUT on taking my 24 hour morning readings today, have the following...
AMMONIA 0..........from 4 in 24 hours

NITRITES..0.05 .....from off the chart in 24 hours.

NITRATES 20 ........ from 5 24 hours .

Am i correct that i now have to see both AMMONIA and NITRITES to go to Zero in 12 Hours , do the big water change 7 days later, (To ensure no mini cycles and all is steady) and im done ?..

Regards Zac

yup just keep plugging away until you see the drop to 0,0 in 12 hrs. Then keep on for one week more for your qualifying week, then do a 90% water change to remove the nitrate that has built up and then you're good to add fish
