They usually stay quite shy until they get older. If there's places to hide then they will find and utilize them. Many people choose to use bare bottom empty tanks to raise younger discus so they can't hide and they can monitor feeding. Personal I find that kind of cruel and unnecessary. But I do have a tip, try to keep hiding spots to a minimum maybe 1 or 2 and then some plants and keep your background color and gravel/substrate color light. Discus are like chameleons and light colors in your tank go a long way when it comes to brightening them up. When they get a bit older though they will be following you around the room. Their vision is very good apparently and I have read on other discus forums that people swear they sit in the front of the tank and watch tv :lol:

well they have had a few fisticuffs nothing major just playing around they have now settled pics tomorrow

Are they getting along well? Keep us updated on how they do together. how big are they?
 
yea they stick together like glue i have added some dwarf gouramis as they are supposed to spread the discus aggression and its working prefect i would say they are 4-5"

glad to see and hear it mate. if you can try getting some other foods too. he/she loved bloodworm, brineshrimp with garlic, beefheart, frozen discus food when in my tank. never would go for flake or prima..... although all the others did :crazy: :S
 
yea i will do when i can im gonna get the mrs to make some beefheart lol
