Finally Got Some! :d

I am chuffed to nuts!! After waiting patiently for the cycle i have now been able to add some little fish.

I got 6 Tiger barbs and 6 Tetra's. Once the barbs went in the first thing they started doing was shoaling!!! i couldn’t believe it!!
The Tetra's were i little less active, they still had a look around though so i think they were just timid. I was a bit worried so kept an eye on them. Also kept the light off hoping this would be less stressful on them.

I went to bed last night dreading the morning...... but thankfully all is ok. The barbs are still shoaling around the tank and the Tetra's have now plucked up some courage and are now swimming around and eating when i fed them as well.

I will now be waiting anxiously for work to finish so i can go back and watch and i will also check the water levels as well.

very good, what tetra's did you get?

you'll find the shoaling will stop when they settle, they do it if they're scared.

I went for the Neon's in the end as there were no Cardinal's..... if you think this was a bad move i will take them out and replace them.

nah should be ok, they're a little more sensitive than cardinals but as long as your careful they'll be fine

Thank god for that!!
They seemed more active this morning so im hopeing it was just them getting use to the tank.

yeah it's normal for fish to hide and be shy the first few days

Dutchie if you go to imageshack.us you can upload your picture this will then give you some web links for forums and websites. All you do then is add it to your sig. I think there should be a button to add the link you just created if not i think all you need to do is type...

Congratulations! And I do love your tank by the way. Tiger barbs are among my favorite fish.
