Finally Folded

Its gona be the adams family of fish tanks, frogs, bettas, tetra and shrimp all together? Hmm, I think 1" per gallon is the least of your potential issues.

Betta should be on there own and fairly sure the frog will eat half the inhabbitance. No expert on them though, good luck with whatever you choose.

there are alot of community tanks with a single betta in them, and the frogs only grow to 1.25" so they won't eat anything at all.
"These frogs are good tank mates for Small Tetras like Neon Tetras and Glow Light Tetras, Harlequin Rasboras, White Clouds, one Betta, Ghost Shrimp, and Corydoras Catfish."

Tank care of African Dwarf Frogs is very simple. Please allow one gallon of water per frog. They are not very messy and they don't produce a lot of waste but their food tends to foul up the water more then they do. They do not need a heater as long as the water doesn't drop below 70. I keep my dwarf tank at 75 and they are happy and healthy. Don't put them in very high and deep tanks. They aren't the best swimmers and it would be stressful on them to be straining to reach air.

Read that!! Please, read that.

That's about the best information I can find. There's various pics, about hiding places and such things.

From what I'm reading, I may, actually, buy a few myself, for a 10 gallon species tank. :) They do look cute, and don't require much other some space. LOL

i already did read that. thats where i found out about them, are you saying there is something that says it wouldnt work? i didnt notice

Fair enough I did say I know nothing about different frog species :) and I stand by the betta comment, yes, many people have kept them successfully AND probably thousands of people have made the mistake and ended up with destroyed fish, its not somthing id promote but am interested to see how it all goes :) keep us updated!

well i finally folded under the pressure and scratched the idea of an african butterfly fish in a 15 gallon. instead i am getting a betta, 4-6 cories, 3-4 african dwarf frogs.. does this sound good? i am buying the betta tomorrow so what are some signs for a healthy betta since they dont swim around at the store. can i also add tetras or is that overstocked?? thanks

You are talking 15 gallon...how tall is the tank?

Don't put them in very high and deep tanks. They aren't the best swimmers and it would be stressful on them to be straining to reach air.

Personally, I wouldn't put them in a community tank. If a situation is going to be stressful on a fish, frog, or anything else...why do it?

i think what it is saying is that if a tank is too high, which mine is 12", then its stressful and they cant get to the top easily cause they cant swim well. i think its saying dont put them in a 24" tall tank.
