Hi every one.

I have a small problem, I have a 30L tank with 2 fish, 1 beta black tip shark and 1 Albino Tetra, every thing seems well and both my fish seem very happy I had a lot more fish but in the start up and being a newbie I lost most of them unfortunatly, While I was doing my weekly cleaning yesterday I noticed that the Albino Tetra seems to have a fin problem his bottom fin is splitting and seems to have small pieces out of it as well as his back tail, does any one think that the Bala Shark is biting his cause I have not seen this or might it be another problem I will try get some pics it's just a lil hard cause the fish is nonly +- 4cm and my camera only takes 3meg pic's. please if any onje could help I would really appriciate your help

Thanking you in advance

Best Regards

SB

it's hard to give you an anser without pics, it could be fin rot or the shark, but i thing the shark is the cause...

Ahh no I also suspected the shark but I was hoping it was not him I will try post some pics If I get rid of the Tetra what other fish do you think the shark could live in piece with

a Bala in a 30l tank! now that's just one long problem, i kid you not!!!!!!!! the tank is. already, too small for a bala of a couple of inches. being as they, can, grow to over 12 inches. and swim like supercharged torpedo's, 10 times that size is, still too small. please return him to the LFS :good:

sounds, to me, like the bala and/or water quality, is causing your split fins.

thanks for the heads up I could not agrea more I rush into getting the Bala with out the requerd resurch I will give him back

you are not alone there :hyper: . i once saw a 30g with three in @2 and a 1/2 inches. they looked great. its hardly surprising people make the error.
