Ok....I have a 40gal and a 15gal

Lets start with the 40 gal..it is quiteee heavily stocked, and is being filtered by a penguin 330, an aqueon 10 and a tetra whisper rated for tanks up to 30gallons.

Needless to say, theres lots of filtering going on it there, and my ammonia and nitrite are always 0 and my large weekly water changes keep nitrate ALWAYS under 25ppm.

I want to move the aqueon over to my 15 gallon, because i dont really want to buy another filter.

Would this cause a problem in my 40? Would it cause a mini cycle? Should i or shouldnt i?

Its...heavy...haha and I think youre right

I just thought maybe since it was my smallest filter it wouldnt be overly significant, but it probably would be...

Should be fine if you up your maintenance for a week or two with water changes. :good:

Just my opinion. :p

Yeah, up the maintenance to reduce the risk of any ammonia/nitrite spikes. Once the bacterial colony has increased then you should be fine once again. Maybe add in another water change per week for a month, or just test the water and deal with any issues you may run into.

Well just w/c when your readings suggest to. Bacterial colonies grow very fast indeed, so should recover in a few weeks.
