Hospital bowl for my my male betta Dr.Pepper, where hes getting treated for tailrot.
It gets dirty qutie fast, and i do bi daily water changes using a baster, and change about 60-70% of the water off the bottom, but theres muck all over hte water
and i want to have some sort of filtration to aid with the cleaning of hte water, and i want it ot be mechanical , and DIY
as carbon may absorb hte meds

Woof, that might be hard. :) My suggestion is to get a whisper 10i filter and use a sponge to adjust the flow and make your own bio bags. The compartment is large enough for your to construct your own.
Make sure the flow isn't that much at all - Might stress your betta. Especially if he's sick.

Oh wait.
.5 BOWL.
Oh lord.
I thought it was 5 gallons.
That's not possible - Or recomended either.
Sorry chum, no way you can make a filter small enough for a .5 gallon anything, much less a bowl.

tried making a sponge filter, but kept floating on me, tried a smallerd up version of the one stickied osmewhere on this forum, and kept floating nad the tube was a bit long, hmm i do have a 3i Whisper filter sitting around, but this bowl doesnt have enough hieght.
Anywho ill keep up with water changes using hte baster though

dont think its possible for a tank that size. what tank was he in before? can you not treat him in there?

not enough of the meds im afraid, but i shoudl be able ot get osme money soon, ive got a job interview latero nat macdonalds (lol its new though has a good pad ive heard)
ina idea popped in my head, using hte 3is intake tube , get some water to some trays placed at hte top of the bowl and some media, whcih water would drip down back into the tank, which iwas thinking of how eclipse systems work(interested in getting one in the summre for my betta, and having it planted)

its a gold fish bowl type thing, in a shape that makes it hard to mount filters on =/
red sea nano filters , those, the only place i know that sells them are a 2 hour busride across the city to a pretty good lfs
but otherwise the air powered fitler link is bad, but yeahh, i need ot gather some materials and create a sponge filter.

ookay waiting for video to load lol
but ill edit htis post hwen i see it lol
i made osmehting similar t t but the gravel kept getting thru into the intaketube, this ia a good idea lol
