Filters

we are getting a 125 gal tank Have not setupa new tank in probably 15 yrs.....What filter or filters are recommended nowadays...........Ourlast big tank...(many moons ago) had a power filter with a undergravel filter...thanks

Tank that size you will most certainly want a canister filter. Eheim makes some nice stuff and Fluval also makes them, but I have (and others) have had a bad history with them. I am currently running a 90 gal Malawi tank and have Rena XP3 and XP2 running it. For the money, you cannot do better than Rena.

IMO cannister filter(s) would work well, I personally like Fluval (though a lot of people on here hate them), Eheims are considered the cadillac of filters, though their price reflects that. I personally prefer a cannister/HOB combo, and on my 75gal I have a Fluval 404 & an Aquaclear 70.
