Filters For My Fish House

well i was just wondering what the best type of filter is best to use

sponge air filter
big externals
or sump type
internal powerhead pumps

i am going to be setting up 4 x 4ft tanks and then tank devider in the middle to make 8 2ft tanks.

any help would be great

you cant go wrong with sponge filters. easy to install and maintain, cheap to buy and run and dont cause too much flow for fry etc

Depending on the fish, box filters are good too and once you have an air pump going, you could have some of each running.

I agree with this - I have the same setup currently as what you have described (plus a few more tanks) and I have a 70L/min air pump running 24/7 which runs an airstone for every tank, a sponge filter for every tank and most tanks also have a home-made box filter on them too with between 0.5 and 2.3L capacity.

When I switch my setup I will continue to use box filters and sponge filters for fry tanks.
