Would it be better to have a filter with 750l/h with uv or 1100l/h without UV ??? Thanks

UVs are really of very little use in freshwater tanks, so I'd go with the larger one.

UV works best with low flow rates to increase dwell time which is a crucial factor in determining their effectiveness. It is very rare that the flow rate from a filter is porper for a UV unit. I run mine when I need to use it on its own powerhead.

I would not waste your money on one built into a filter is you really want one.

At the lowest level they will kill algae which is in the water. At their strongest they call a fair variety of bacteria and even viruses. if you really want to know abiout UV units, this is a good read: http://www.americanaquariumproducts.com/AquariumUVSterilization.html

I've got the allpondsolutions 2000l/h with uv. I should write a review on here really.

Any way as a quick review as you are thinking of getting it, it's a fantastic filter for the price think it was about £85. For a big canister with huge amounts of space (4 big trays) for media that comes included. I bought some corse sponges to go with it as you get only fine floss/wool , bio balls and ceramic rings and active carbon. It's easy to set up all pipes included with adjustable spray bar, strainer for inlet and a surface skimmer attachment ( that's useless). As a warning the flow is very powerful on the 1400 and with no flow adjuster in smaller tanks(below 55gal) or corner tanks it will creat a storm in there.

Now for the uv. It's a 9w I think not sure if you can put a 18/24w in it.
I've had mine for over 6 months and I didn't notice any improvements. I've had bacterial blooms and white spot during that, not saying that it should or shouldn't help or prevent this but it just never seemed worth having I've had it switched of for about a month now and my tank is all the same. I think that the water passes the uv bulb way too fast for any affect on water plus the strength of the bulb is very low.

I give the filter a 7/10

Positives
-price
-large media compacity
-turn over 1400l/h

Negatives
-no flow adjustment
-dosnt look as good as an fluval fx5/6
-dosnt come with mixed grade sponges(only fine)
