i had an interpet filter in a 60l tank with only a crayfish in it. today it finaly gave up!

so i got the meida out of it and put it in to an old fluval 4+ which is way to big!

what would be a goot filter to replace it?

For a 60 litre tank, a Fluval 1+ or 2+ would be a better size.
I like the sponge filters and small canisters, but a canister, even a little Rena XP1, is a bit of overkill for a tank that size. Unfortunately sponge filters are harder to clone by moving media around. Do you have any small filters on hand that might be adapted for the 60 litre?

i have a fluval 1+ but thought it would be too small?

The nominal tank size for a 1+ is 12 gallons or about 50 litres. The 1+ is going to be marginal on a tank that size by their estimates but a lot depends on the nature of your stocking and what you expect a filter to do. I am not one who expects my filter to remove all solids for me so I can easily make use of slightly undersized filters. The biological ability of many filters is far larger than most people recognize.
