hi i was just wondering on why my filters loud all of the sudden, the day it got loud i took it apart and reasembled it which solved the problem but it only seems to solve the problem for 10 mins, then its back to being loud again, and if its faulty how do i go about getting another replacment one as i cant just take it back for a swap cause it'l have to cycle again and all my fish would die?

what kind of filter is it.
this happened to me recently, mine stopped working then when i got it back it sounded terrible. concidering i sleep in the same room i made the executive decision that i work late and need to be able to sleep. so i bought a new filter and started over.

If it turns out that your filter is faulty and you need to replace it, to prevent having to recycle from scratch you can simply swap half of your new filter sponge with the old sponge, thereby keeping a good supply of the matured filter media and avoiding any major problems for the fish.
