Filter Problems

Evening all,

Having a few problems with my tank/ filter. I have an external filter which is rated at 1200 l/ph and keeps the water really clean and clear but I've noticed now I've added more fish it seems to struggle with the solid waste that settles on the sand.

I've tried moving the inlet and outlets around the tank but still there dosnt seem to be a big enough current created the move the heavier pieces of waste into the filter inlet.

Is it worth trying in the opposite corner to my inlet ? Would the current be too much for my fish ?

The tank is 270l and houses

3 cardinal tetra
13 Black neon tetra
4 Black phantom Tetra
1 Bolivian ram
2 blue marble angles
2 rainbow fish
1 common plec

Hi there, I had the same prob a while back. That powerhead is way too strong. Pick up a 900lph koralina (i believe) model. I have one and it works great. Take a look at the pic of my tank in photo section.

Cheers for that i'v had alook and there pritty pricey but needs must I suppose
