Filter Problem Help!

I have this really nice aqueon filter which I've had for a few years.  Its worked great until now.  This morning it wasn't doing anything but humming.  No water was flowing.  It works full or empty, so i know the problem is not that it was empty or anything.  I opened it up and it all looks clean and in order.  Any advice here?  I don't really want to go buy another filter, this one is only 2-3 years old.  What should I do?

Well, I fixed it!  I hadn't checked the propeller.  Sure enough, there was a wad of hair around it!

That'll do it. I had a similar isssue with my Marineland BioWheels. When the power goes out, they will stop functioning when the power returns until you lift the impeller and then reinsert it. I actually threw one out that probably worked just fine until someone told me how to fix it.

I have a 110 litre juwel tank which filter would be best to use the fluval U3 or U4? I don't have the room for an external filter so have to have internal.
