New member here. I tried searching the web and this forum for filter placement and couldn't find what I was looking for, so here I am :)

I bought a 33 gallon aquarium last year and have slowly been adding to it and so far now I have about 9 small fake plants in there spread, throughout, with 5 Blue Gourami's and 3 zebra danios and a pleco. The aquarium is 36Lx18Hx12W, so with my calculations it is 33 gallons or so. It was a great leap from my little 10 gallon tank that I got with a starter kit at Walmart.

Lately I have been thinking of some new ideas on lighting as right now I have an LED rope light taped to the back and sides of the tank, because when I bought it, there was no light source or hood, just two glass tops, so I don't have a background to help hide my filter and heater. Today I did a cleaning and a bit of organizing and moved some of my plants and decorations and I moved my filter to the bottom of the tank in a vertical position and I mean on the bottom, not near the bottom :) It's a Fluval U3, so it is a bit large and hard to hide, but when the money comes, I will be buying a hood with a built in light source and get a background for the tank as well. So for now, I am looking for some ideas on how to hide my filter, so feel free to give me some ideas and I will do some testing :)

Sorry carn't help with hiding the filter but you'l need a decent external on that size tank really, u3 on that tank is wayyyyy underfiltered
