filter part replacement fixer-upper

For those of you who have the little filter intake tube fitting missing on the bottom to protect the fish from being sucked up I found the coolest thing...

I found a clear plastic lid off of a bottle of vick's sore throat spray,melted holes in it with a soldering iron and it fits perfectly! Slides right on w/out anything to hold it in place.

Just thought I'd share.

I have seen people do that before in stores, seems like a nice idea too. I have a simialr thing with my filter, but I have had no problems, yet.

mine broke and i just took mine off since i dont got any fish small enough to go through there i dont think... a molly 2 corys and a pleco
