Keep in mind that an FX5 runs at 48Watts. You will probably notice this on your electric bill, as it uses more or less the same power consumption as leaving a single light tube on for 24/7.

this is one of the draw backs of having large fish tanks.

One of many reasons to go with a DIY wet/dry sump. Its extremely cost and energy effective (as you get to shop around for your return pump), and offers much better filtration than any manufactured filter on the market (if built properly of course).
