hi there, ive decided im going to take my adf back to the shop tomorow and completely start again. Its going well at the moment but ive just come into a bit of money so i wanted to get rid of the undergravel filter, keep my fluval 1 but invest say £100 into the best internet filter i can buy for a 10g barring in mind it cant swallow my fish when i get them. Ive been told undergravel filters arent to good so i got a fluval 1 to go with it but as im getting rid of the undergravel whats the best internet to go with the fluval 1? or maybe even replace the fluval.. thnx

hi hives
think you could get a decent filter for your 10gall for far less than £100. i only paid £80 for my external filter & thats for a 55 gall tank. but it is a good idea to get a really good filter

yeah i only payed £15 for my fluval 1 but i want an uberly good one. i.e the don daddy of filters for my tank size!

Why not for that kind of money upgrade the tank instead? Then you would be able to get more of the fish you were looking for.

Thats what I would do  You could get a nice set up including filter for that amount.

im new to fish keeping and i dont mind the 10g for now, just wanted the best filteri can get for it!!! you fish tank pushers! hehe only joking, thnx

I can't think of any external filters that would suit a 10 gallon -_-
To my knowledge they would all be too powerful.

I vote for the idea of upgrading your tank instead. Say £50 on a 20 gallon tank and £50 on an external eheim 2213 or similar.

Ahhh, just give it a couple of months. After your 10 gal is up and running for a while you are going to wish you would have gotten a bigger tank. :hyper: It catches on quick. I started with a 20 gal. Now I have a 10 gal, 20 gal, 33 gal & a 55 gal.

For £100, you should be able to get a great filter (i would just get a good HOB filter designed for a 20-30g tank), q
Unless I'm mistaken, hobs aren't (for whatever reason) very common / popular here in the UK.

yeah i got an fluvel 2+ in my 13 uk gallon & fluvel 3+ in my 28 uk gallon.
also hives unless i'm really talking through my butt bigger tanks are easier to maintain :D .
since july i've gone from 13 gall to 28 gall to 55 gall & now looking at 60 gall as well :hey: :hey: :hyper: :hyper: .
this MTS is really bad lol

Really? What do you use on small tanks? Internals?
yep
Bummer! It's not like there's a lot of space in a 10g as it is. Why take up a bunch of space with an internal?

Is it because the main hob manufacturers don't ship to the UK or because they just haven't caught on in the consumer market?

nooo i cant get another tank lolll, im sticking with the 1.5 foot.. i dont have anymore space as i only have 1 room to play with. I was after info on the best filter i could get on my tank size, no buying other tanks or anything really as im sticking with this one! thnx

Hi,

I've a 13 Gal tank and I'm upgrading my filter at the moment ... or hope to anyway. I will be getting a Fluval Plus 2 ... or is that a Fluval 2 Plus?

Anyway, that's what I would get, plus they only cost about 42 euro, which'd be less than £30
