Filter For 90l Tank

that will give just over 4x turner depending on wot stock levels yes that would be fine i personally would go with the fluval 3+ but i like over filtering as much as i can but u could always look into maybe externals i used 2 use a tetratec EX600 on a 60 ltr and it worked perfect but again just my preference on overfiltereing :)

I agree, that filter would probably be fine if you wanted to understock. Its got a flow rate of 400L/H and we would recommend about 450 for your tank. If you want to look at cannisters, a TetraTec EX700 would probably be great. Also you could look at Eheim models 2213, 2215 and 2222 or a smaller Fluval as mentioned. If you want to look at HOB filters I believe the AquaClear (Hagan and other labels?) models 150 and 200 might be appropriate to look at and would be expected to cost less.

In general, overall filtration effectiveness, because of media volume, starts with internal filters, gets better with HOB filters and is the best with cannisters. Both HOBs and cannisters can be a bit easier and less messy to remove from the tank and take to the tub for cleaning. Cannisters have the greatest ease and flexibility, often having media trays that can simply be lifted out and dunked in tank water for cleaning. Cannisters do not suffer from "waterfall" noise like HOBs.
