Filter Flow Reduction...

Hi, I have a fluval 304 external on my 75gal tank. The 304 has a spraybar at the back and afew weeks ago when I did a waterchange the spray of water came righf frward and splashed against the front glass.

Now it only shoots out about 5inches

what coul be causing this?

Clogged up filter sponge or something?

Have you checked inside to see if the sponge is clean? If you can easily get to the impellor check and see if it is clean and intact. Check the pipes are clean inside and don't have algae built up or something stuck. Tilt the filter around a bit just incase some air is stuck, check that the spray bar itself is clean and flowing well.

Hi, i had a quick look in the big filter and the bio wool polishing stuff seemed to be cultivating some sort of algae green stuff which was blocking the output pipe. All fixed now
