I have a BiOrb 30 and am changing it out for a 60 litre. It's temperate/coldwater (about 21 - 22c) all year round and I've been keeping 4 Black Widow Tetras and 3 Mountain Minnows in it for the last year. I know BiOrbs have their disadvantages but given lack of space and the fact my missus only really wants a BiOrb i'm going for the bigger one as I can pick one up cheap from a friend.
Question is - can I convert it to run with either sand/internal filter, or an external filter? I'd rather do away with the suspect UGF that comes fitted, and I'm happy to pay good money for a decent external filter if an external would be the best way to go? If so, could anyone recommend a good sized filter for a 60 litre tank?
