Is it ever possible to add too much bacteria to prime your filters? If so can this make your water slightly bloomy. Any thoughts-

Bacterial 'blooms' are not due to the bacteria that grow in your filter.

What do you mean when you say 'adding' bacteria? As far as I know, there are very few products that work in this respect. The rest add ammonia (in effect) so are useless.

Bacteria are living things. If there isn't enough food to support extra ones (ie not enough ammonia), they die. If they die, you get ammonia as a waste product :p Of course, the fact that you had too many means you probably have mroe than enough to cope with this die-off.

Anyway, you don't need to worry about adding mroe bacteria if your tank's cycled or in the process of cycling. Just make shure the existing bacteria have an ammonia source and the tank'll be fine.
