Hi All

Heres a few pictures I took of my tank today, thought I'd share. Also looking for opinions, do you think theres too much rock in there? I think its really cramped - my friend did it, I do like the look of it but wondering wether its taking up too much room that the fish could do with?

Enjoy..

I don't think you should have the blood parrot in there, but it is good tank over all. :)

Hi, how come the parrot shouldn't be in there?? When I bought it i told the fish store that it will be going into a tank with malawis and they said it would be fine ??

Wells that fish store was wrong, the blood parrot needs soft acidic water malawians need hard basic water. Plus you just should not mix new world and old world.

I don't like the look of blood parrots.

Your rock is fine. Everything looks good except the parrot.

"The Blood parrot (also known as bloody parrot and blood parrotfish; no binomial nomenclature) is a hybrid cichlid. Because this hybrid cichlid has various anatomical deformities, controversy exists over the ethics of creating the Blood Parrot. One of the most obvious, and also deadly, deformities is its mouth, which only has very narrow vertical opening. This makes blood parrot very hard to feed. Many die eventually because of this. Cichlid enthusiasts have called for their removal from the market and organized boycotts against pet stores that sell them."

I agree totally. Get rid of the parrot. I keep old world (frontosas) with new world (eartheaters) without consequence. Such a beautiful, peaceful community. It can be done, although you'll always be told not to.
