Fish Crazy
I've been watching my fish lately only to have a few chuckles as well as a few wonders.
I laugh because my angels will go to the top of the tank and peck at the surface which creates bubbles that float along the surface. Then, they all go chasing these bubbles around and peck at them which in turn creates more and the cycle goes on. Create, stalk, pounce, create....
EDIT: I noticed this evening...had no evidence of anything to think otherwise prior that my angels and my otocincluses do not work in my community tank together. For some reason, my angels have now started attacking the otos. All of my otos, save the biggest one are missing at least one eyeball. I caught two of my angels red handed pecking at the otos while they were on the glass and then stalking them until they stuck on somewhere else. Otos removed.
I have noticed that my harlequin rasboras have all lost some of their brilliant coloring except for one. The one seems to be atop the pecking order between them and my scissortails.. I was thinking that the dominant one exhibits the most brilliant color. Is there any truth to my hypothesis?
It was also interesting to watch my pearl gouramis go from staying at the top of the tank and in the darker shaded areas up there when I first put them in to social with themselves and even a bit curious of the angels about 3 days later. Now the gouramis are comfortable and move about the tank in the light across both mid and upper levels. They also seem to socialize amongst themselves at times, albeit with some reinforcing of pecking order, and just doing their own thing by themselves.
