1) how many weeks after the fry are born do they need to be moved to a grow out tank? and how do you transfer them? is this tank to be planted with live plants etc...?

2)which plants are best in the breeding tank> java moss?

3)how many fry is there likely to be or does etc time vary?

4)what size jarrs can the betta males be kept in when they can be sexed? do these need to be hated/planted/filtered etc? and at what age can the fry eat normal betta food?

5)when do the fry start to show their colours etc? and how long till they are nearly at full size?

1) I'm really not sure, although I believe it's better to keep them together as long as they aren't being aggressive. Once you start noticing aggression, remove the ones who are being aggressive, and keep doing that until they are seperated. The girls may not ever be aggressive, which is ideal! Live plants aren't required and can also bring snails to the tank if you aren't careful, but I think they are also a good idea because the little ones can nip on them some.

2) java moss is great for bettas, and they fry will probably love hiding in it. i don't believe they eat it, but it shouldn't matter. they fry would love the java moss.

3) the amount of fry will vary and you can usually count on most of them dying off your first couple times around. maybe you will be one of the lucky ones. at most you will get around 200 although i believe you will be typically be able to have around 50-100.

4) any size jars are fine, until they get larger. once they get more full size, you should consider getting them something bigger. in the meantime you can use anything from cups with lids, to tupperware or anything else reasonable in price.

5) i do not know when they start to show color, but someone else can help you with this more. here is a good size chart i frequently use and it is aproximate as fry will grow at different rates..here is the standar chart:
