Our festivums have spawned for the second time. First time they lost the eggs but this time we have wrigglers. They're so comical to watch moving the young from one place to another. Should be free swimming in a couple of days. Then its decision time, will we try and save them or let nature take its course.

Theres 5 Apistos and about 20 corys. There were a pair of angels which we moved to another tank as the festvums were giving them grief. Within a few days both the angels and festivums had spawned.

Good going :good:

Never kept Festivums, but was looking at some today and they were gorgeous.

They are beautiful fish but can be very nasty. They were in a tank with a breeding pair of parachromis loisellei and they held their own no problem

This kind of behviour is no suprise. There have been numerous members here have posted about having problems with Festivums.

Great picture, good luck with the upbringing. :good: :)

We had removed around half into a small grow out tank just to try and rear a few, and it was just as well as the parents have lost their half. We had left the lights on with them as we've found that when the lights go out suddenly the fry scatter, but they lost them anyway. So the remainder are looking good so far, early days though.
