Female betta

My female betta looks like she's shedding. Some of her scales are falling off, and there are white spots in some places. The spots are too big to be ich. Her water is fine and she is in a filtered tank. I don't know what's wrong with her. She's not acting sick, its just those spots. What could I use to cure her?

hiya, not sure how big the spots are, cud it be white spot ?

if ur not sure but worried that she is starting to look ill, u cud use melafix ?

It could be. The spots are larger than ich, but not much. I could use melafix, but since her tank is so small it would be hadr to measure the ammount.

I have a book on fish and it from what I'm reading it sounds like body slime fungus; the symptoms for it are:
"The protective mucus grows white and starts peeling off, as if the fish were molting; the fins are eventually covered as well."
Is that what it sounds like?

Thats exactly what it sounds like. Is betta fix any good for that?

uh oh... i had similar thing happening... color loss... and like... whitish spots that dont really look like fungus.. more like loss of color... she died tho

hope u have better luck with yours... mine was too sick to save but hopefully yours will stand a better chance

she doesn't seem too bad...yet. I've started treating her for it, and it just showed up, so I think she has a pretty good chance.
