I just bought a female betta. 
8) I'd like to breed her to one of my males. I know that their mating habits are a bit cruel (by means of the male usually killing the female when shes done laying eggs) I don't want them to get hurt, so I have some questions first.
1. How long should I keep the female with the male?
2. When should I take her out?
3. When the eggs hatch, how long can I keep the males and females together?
4. When do they start to get color?
