I am getting a female betta this weekend. Or if I find a really pretty one maybe a male but not to breed. Just for another betta PET.
I always want more than one betta at a time. If I can find one I will probly get a red male. But I am not dure but I think the petco around me only sells girls. But I want a red male because it remindes me of my old red male max-a-million. I liked him but he died.

I ment dont

I wish you the best of luck in finding the fish for you. If you do not find what you like, I have a red crowntail male for sale, and a red femail (viel tail.)

Since your petco only sells females you could start a female betta soroity of 5 or more. It would be really beautiful to look at and female bettas are generally peaceful in this number.

really I thought female bettas figh t not a brutale but do they fight?

they have a pecking order when in groups... so the "picking " gets divided between the females... if only w/ one other female - the two will fight visciously... also males and females fight as well - unless its mating season...

but yes it's ok to have a group of female bettas - generally called a sorority tank

Oh ok... So is it better to have them seprate or in the same tank?

wellif you have 1 or 2... it's better to have them seperate...

but if there are more than 2 - you can seperate all of them (kinda pointless)... or you can put them all in the same tank because they won't fight

ok yes if there are only 2 keep them seperate and if you have more than 2 you can try a sorority tank which always look great, but keep in mind that even though you are able to keep females together does not mean thay they will not fight. if you do decide to start a sorority tank then you need to be prepared to seperate all or some of the girls. you might want to look into how to tell the difference between females and plakat males.(iv learned the hard way) by the way where are you located because you definetly should be able to get males at your petco. either way good luck with your sorority tank if you do decide to start one they really are great.

ok I will look it up. I will not have more than 2 females in the same tank.
