Feeding

If you're feeding pellets, then 4/5 twice a day. You can also give bloodworm a couple of times a week instead.

If you can get hold of any live baby brineshrimp, they love these once or twice a week, too - just put a small amount of them in the tank (hard to count them out but just a few) and whatever your betta can't eat there and then he will eat later (and as they are live foods you don't have to worry about them going off as he will eat them all before they get a chance to die and stagnate). Those in the rest of the pack can be kept in the fridge and they will stay alive for at least 24 hrs usually, often longer. Or if you have other tanks, you can share a pack out between them all.

If you can't get live brineshrimp, you can buy frozen blocks. Just dissolve a small chunk in some tank water (in a cup), sieve and add the food to the tank - again just a small amount, a couple at a time until he stops rushing to eat them.

Once a week you can give your betta a little bit of squashed pea to help his digestion and prevent constipation/bloating.
