How "in-depth" are you when you feed your fish? Do you just toss in a load of flake food or do you prepare your fish a meal with mult-vitamins? Do you use frozen food from a shop or do you prepare your own recipies?

Just curious, really! :)

I'm pretty into a schedule for my fish and try to feed them to best I can.

Weekdays(but not on Tuesdays or Fridays, they don't get food then so I don't overfeed them)I feed Tetramin Flake Food, used to be TetraPrima Complete food but the Flakes are just about to reach the expiry date so I'm trying to use them up.

Weekends I feed them TetraPrima Complete Food

I alternate between King British Catfish Pellets and the sample of Hikari Algae Wafers that I got in PFK for the Cory's, when I feed the Wafers less than the Catfish Pellets the fish go mad for them, I imagine the Pellets must taste rather Meat and Potatoes compared to the fancy Wafers. When the sample runs out I'll have to buy a proper pack(hope the LFS stocks it by then).

I have plans to culture Grendal Worms and Daphnia(just looking around for starter kit, probably after my holiday in two weeks) and when the Flakes go I'll probably switch to Tetramin Crisps(are they any better? Does anyone reccomend Tetrapro Crisps/Colour Crisps?)

Also I'm thinking of getting Hikari Micro Wafers. I take the health of my fish very seriously.

I enjoy feeding a bit of variety. Vary the flake foods, when I buy a new, and also feed them the special flakes for livebearers every few days. Most of my fish get fed twice a day, with one fasting day a week. Twice a week they get jellied bloodworm or brine shrimp or daphnia. Three times a week, I feed vegetables, usually whatever we're having ourselves. As I have bristlenose fry in two tanks, I provide them with a pretty constant supply of cucumber and courgette.

Hikari is good. My feeding plan is kind of strange, but I try to give my fish a variety of food. I'm going to start a vegetable garden just for fish food. No, I haven't actually tried to eat the hikari fish food myself, but my fish say it's great. And no, I'm not crazy.

I'm a big fan of varying the food- I guess it makes it more fun for me if anything. So I alternate between color flake food, Hikari mini pellets, Hikari mini wafers, shrimp pellets, frozen bloodworms, and a mix of "variety pack' frozen food (bloodworms, brine shrimp, etc.) The Betta gets Hikari betta food, color flakes, and bloodworms (which he will fully jump out of the water for). I fast once a week, and give half a chopped pea once a week.

I'm going to start putting in fresh veggies for the cory cats as well.

I probably overfeed, but I'm careful about doing my water changes on time.

The Tetra Pro Colour crisps are very good. They seem to actually make a difference. I have used all mine up now though so they're feeding on Tetra Prima and King British flakes as i have a tub of these left also. I feed live food about 3 times a week now. I used to feed them everyday but it gets expensive. I feed everyday, but have gone from two-three times a day to usually once. Also chuck half a cucumber or courgette in every now and then for the Plecs. Also feed these with Tetra TabiMin. The Cory's clean up any bit of Prima that manage to go uneaten.

I wouldn't worry about the expiry dates on foods.
