Hello everyone.
I have been keeping Tanganyikan Cichlids for some time and have extensive experience of keeping Tropheus and Lamprologus species, both of which I've successfuully bred.
However - I have now set up a large (5ft) tank as a community. Currently stocked with 4 Frontosas (hopefully a male and 3 females) a shoal of 12 Tropheus Duboisi and a Gibbiceps (which I've now had for nearly a decade bless him).
My question is this - given the very different feeding requirements for the fronts and duboisi, how can I prevent the duboisi nicking any of the fronts food? I'm feeding them bloodworm, mealworm, frozen cichlid mix, cichlid pellets etc, all of which are completely unsuitable, even harmful, to the tropheus.
I had thought that the fronts would consume all food offered before this problem could arise but this aint the case due to the tropheus being so cheeky and voracious.
Any (practicable) suggestions???
Cheers,
Ad.
