Hi

I have 5 new USD Cats in quarantine, and I'm about to move them to my 75Gal tank, in which I keep 2 Lyretail Mollies, 5 Red Eye Tetra, and 1 Cosby Gourami.

My concern is that ALL of these fish go nuts when I feed them, really!!, they are fast and will eat almost whatever I put in the tank: flakes, cucumber, surimi, white worms, algae waffers, my plants :( etc.

I've been noticing that my USD Cats are a little bit slower in finding the food that I drop, and when they eventually find it, they take their time.

So my question is: what should I do when the cats get into the big tank, so that my current fish wont eat all of the food before them ? ? ?

The USD cats are nocturnal feeders.

Simply feed them half an hour after you turn the tank lights off.

If the room lights are on then covering the front of the tank to reduce the light further will help.

thanks, I've done tests in which I feed the USD cats at night time and at day time, and they always take a lot of time to find the food and even longer to eat it :/

I've also done tests to the guys at the 75Gal tank, at night time (even after eating during the day) and they will inmediately find the food and eat it waaay faster than the cats (think of sharks when I say this) the main problem is that these guys already know I'm going to feed them when they see my arm aproaching from above, so they just follow my fingers, and the cats have no clue of this yet, and even if they find out, they eat slower.

That is why I'm worried, 'cause I'm moving the cats to the big tank in about a week
