hey, bought 4 silver dollars the other day and was told they need to have vegetables in their diet, they seem to go mental on bloodworms but wont have a bar of small pieces of lettuce etc, the fish are only small so im limited on what vegetables i can give them... any suggestions would be good

Deshelled peas are a good veg to try as they mimic small pellets/flake so you might find they go straight for it. Getting fish to like veg can be hard. You just have to try them every day with it untill they get used to it. After a year of trying with some of my fish they just don't want to nibble most veg. Yet others have slowly addapted to it. Try using led weights and sinking chunks of lettuce and cuccumber.

spinach mine loved pecking at spinage leaf tomato seeds were a favourite too but mine went mental for sinking catfish pellets but my sd's were 6 inch and 3 inch so i fed the tablet shaped algea wafers for big plecs and such but you could get the ones meant for corys and such if there really small

i find mine, pick up and then eat, anything small enough for the to get. so i dice many veg. i also find the love algae wafers. doing pretty much the same thing.

I see your tank is 39 gallons. What size is it exactly? These fish need quite a large tank as they get big.

i used to give mine cucumber and lettuce (a whole lettuce leaf). ( not at the same time) But they loved it, and just nibbled at it for about 10 minutes until it was all gone! But then again mine were about 5 inches big :D

Thanks for the replies, will try a few things out

and as for the tank size.... its 150gallon or 6ft long
