have a 55 with mostly mbuna, 2 haps. Im feeding them new life spectrum cichlid food, Is that the only thing I need for them?

I ask because it seems like a all around food with all the needed ingrediants.

Do you guys feeding the something else?

I use NLS as a staple food as well. I supplement with zucchini, lettuce, peas, and frozen daphnia and brine shrimp as well.

Although you can feed exclusivly on NLS, it's always a good idea to add variety.

I have some quick questions, Can I feed them lettuce that I would buy from a food market?, how would you give it to them, cold or u boil it?

the same for the peas?

Im feeding them x2 a day nls, what's you feeding shedule

Thanks :good:

I feed them 2x per day w/NLS, except for Sundays when I feed once. I usually put veggies in on Sunday so they can munch during the day. And once every week or so, I substitute frozen daphnia or brine shrimp for NLS.

Most lettuce I just put in the tank as is, avoid iceburg lettuce as it isn't very nutricious. Peas I heat up in the microwave and then squish out the insides, mush them up, and add to the tank. W/zucchini, I cut it up and put it in the freezer, when I'm ready to feed, I thaw it out and put it in the tank. I prefer using veggie clips you can pick up at your LFS, but some people use plant weights, or attach them to rocks, one person on here spears cucumber on a fork and drops it in.
