hey how r u all ?

i have 8 oscars ,, i feed them pellets have 38% protein once a day

they were so much fine for a month but yesterday before i went 2 the school when i took off the tank's curtain

2 of them were laying on the ground thats was the first time i saw them like that

i thought they was sleeping ,, today when i came back home i saw one layin ,, she was good in the morning

she's little bit lazy ,, she move when i come to the tank but resting alot

i think my problem is how much should i feed them

if i follow the 3 minutes rule they will eat half the food !

they r 7 cm ,, how much should i feed them ?

look 2 this pic

i give them like the quantity on the left once a day

the quantity on the right is a 5 ml ( from medicine spoon )

link does not work for me.

what is the size of your tank...and 8 oscars? wow hope you have a large tank.

what are your water stats?

what size tank do you have?
what temp is the water at?
what filteration do you have, for eight oscar's it will need to be very very good indeed,
What is your plan, are you planning to get a pair and rehome the rest....

feeding a varied diet is best, chopped prawn's/high quality cichlid pellet's like hilraki gold/bloodworm and also deshelled pea's, help's with digestion and constipation

MY TANK IS 100*50*70 CM

the water is good ,, i do a 30% water change twice every week

the temp is 27*c

the filter is that be in the cover of the tank ,, i think in English called " outside filter "

it clean the tank ,, and i remove the gravel to get the dirty off

this a new link

about my plan ,, im thinking after they get bigger i'll buy a new tank big enough ( like 100 - 120 cm ) for 4 of them

the food u named actually is not available at the local store ,, i give them : Pets Family - Cichlid Colour Pellet

it contains :

%38 crude protein

%3 crude fat

%5 crude fiber

%10 moisture

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

thank u for the fast response ^^

hate to break it to you but that tank is barely big enough for a single oscar let alone 8. you need to re-home 7 of them im afraid.

i think i made a mistake

my oscars r 8 ,, and 7 cm long ( with the tale )

this is a photo for the tank with the fish ( i thought it big for all of them as they r 7 - 10 cm long )

" link 4 the food http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php?qui...dwz&thumb=4 "

i give them like the quantity on the left once a day

the quantity on the right is a 5 ml ( from medicine spoon )

how muh should i give them ?

you can still only have 1 oscar in a tank that size. although i have to say in the photo that tank looks smaller than stated

how many oscars in the tank?tank looks to small even for one oscar once they grow...
those betta's i would remove quick, i know there seperate but that will really wind the oscars up

hard to read that

Eight Oscars on one tank - I don't think I've seen a situation even in the big tanks at fish shops....

u should visit our local store

although i have to say in the photo that tank looks smaller than stated

i wish u can be here with ruler

thank u guys ,, but no 1 answered me ,, if i returned the 7 oscars ,, how much should i feed 1 oscar ?

were just trying to help you with your oscar's mate.....
feed them once a day with the pellet's....at the size id say through in a pinch and wait for them to eat, then again a pinch and no more, oscars will eat eat and eat

yea ,, thank u

it's hard to choose 1 oscar from a group u really attached with

but theres no choice

thank u all ^^

i feed my oscars a mix of oscar pellets and pond sticks as their 'basic' diet. they get this 1 x a day every day.
in addition to this they have chopped vegetables (cucumer, peas, green beans, chicory, brocalli etc) a few times per week, frozen blood worms and brineshrimp a few times per week and things like pangasius fillet/pollack/tinned tuna or sardines 1 x per week. if i can afford it i also get them mussels and shrimps now and then. oscars really do need a varied diet.

minimum tank size for one oscar is really 75 gallons you really do need to rehome some :( they grow very quickly and can soon reach 24cm+!
