Hi all, new to the forum as I need a bit of help.
I've had my tank a good year now and have never really got to grips with keeping plants. I'm sick of replacing them and wondered if you have any advice on how to get them growing and stop them from constantly dying!

I'd also like a bit of advice on plant food. I know you have to take the carbon filters out to use the plant food but how long do I keep them out for? Surely I don't have to keep them out all the time?

Thanks in advance :)

I'd take the carbon out anyway. most here only use it to remove meds.

its a hangover from "old school" keeping. because it makes LFS and makers money. they still sell it.

Tom Barr has stated on many occasions that carbon in filters has little or no effect to on the availability of nutrients in the water column.
