i bought some live bloodworm recently and i was going to feed it to my fish tonight. i dont have one of those feeding cones. would it be ok jut to pour some into the water?
Yup you can just pour them in. Make sure all of the pink liquid they came in is washed off though. I use a fish net to do this, then just pour them straight in. Don't worry about them getting stuck in your gravel/sand as your fish will go nuts for them so chances are they won't reach the bottom before being eaten.
Not sure, I would say as soon as you get them home feed the fish. I think if your stockpiling food then frozen bloodworm is the way to go but of course live is fresher. I think I had a bag of live bloodworm that I forgot about and after about 12 hours the bloodworm were all dead.
i only go lfs once a fortnight and keep the live bloodworm refridgerated for upto 1 week and they are fine
i empty the bloodworm packet into the foot off a pair of (new) stockings over a glass - this way all the liquid goes straight through and none of the blood worms fall out of the net (found this when using normal nets sometimes)
i then use a spork (spoon/forK) from kentucky and get them out and feed to the fish
ok thanks. well i poured them into an old pot from the bag, and then just took some out with a spoon but there are over half left. so i should put them in the fridge. can they still be fed when they are dead?
