Hi,

I have a mixed tank that includes 1 pearl guarami (his mate died a few months ago), 5 platys and 2 pakistani loaches. I feed them all on a basic diet of flake food and use brine shrimp in jelly as a treat. However, the guarami is the only fish that doesn't seem to like the brine shrimp.

Can anyone suggest a different treat for him? He gets very aggressive when it comes to feeding and chases all the other fish away even when he won't eat the brine shrimp!

Thanks in advance,

Clareg ;)

Hi Clareg :)

They love spirulina discs too.
sorry to hijack.. :*)

I only found that out too just the other day!!

I had just fed my Mbuna some spirulina flakes and, instead of putting the tub down and picking up my regular tropical flakes, I got distracted and put in a helping of spirulina.

My Gouramis went nuts for them, as did my Bolivian Rams!!

Excellent..another one to the menu to give my fish a decent variety! :D

Not sure how closely related the two species are, but my Croaking Gouramis love frozen bloodworms and peas.

Thanks everyone!

I'll be paying a visit to my lfs over the weekend!

Boy, is my gourami in for a treat :D

I'll let you know how I get on.

Clareg
