My fry are now free swimming and i have removed the male...

My microworms are well on the go, the only thing is, i can see hundreds of them moving (like a minute bubbling effect) but the only problem is, whats the best way to get them out? i placed a piece of thick paper towel over half the culture, and now on top of the towel is hundreds of em...

what should i do now?

do i Rinse the towel in a cup or two of clean water, Then finish by rinsing the towel in one of my fry tanks (after doing some research it said there will still be hundreds of microworms on it even after rinsing)

I want to be 100% sure i am doing it right, thats why i am asking here :)

ps, instead of using a eyedropper can i use a 1ml pipe (clean of cours) that comes with treatments.. (i read this is another way to get the worms out that you rinse in a jar)

Thanks...

just to add to above... are microworms safe to us? if io forget to wash my hands i mean or some get out of tub lol

Micro worm climb the sides of the tub that they are in once their ready, just use a small paint brish or something to remove them and to add the to the tank

no rinsing them?

hey m8, about brine shrimp, i done a few testers and they hatched fine... only trouble im having is seperating the unhatched eggs and shells from the bbs..

I have made a device, but it aint as good as i thought it would be, even using it and also using filter papers afterwards, i cant seem to end up with just the shrimp, if unhatched eggs go in the fry tank, is that bad?

Thanks m8

It's not a problem, uneaten worms are the problem......

OK separating the shells from the shrimp in not the easiest thing.
I let the bottle stand for 4-5 mins, the shells float and the shrimp sink to the bottom, course some eggs/shells sink as well but using a light you can encourage the shrimp to the fount.
I then syphone them out.

I use a coffee filter to catch them, but a fine mest fish net works but some do get through.

Unhatched eggs and shells can get stuch in the stonach of fry this is why you should feed brineshrimp from day 5 of free swimming, as this should give them time to grow a little

So after say 7 days of feeding them the microworms, if i feed them brine shrimp after that and a few shells end up in the fry tank, it wont be a big problem?

Thanks

I can see in the fry tank there is lots of worms :good: and they wriggling all over lol...

im just glad to know, there is food for them if they need it :).. il be sure to mop up thier floor at the end opf each day so no build up of dead worms etc effects thier tank :)

Ye you got the idea :)

Wast food as you know is always a big problem, so watch that and you be fine.

with regards to getting the microworms out, mine crawl up the sides of the tub and cover the underside of the lid.

I know this is waterworms, but the microworms are the same.
i use one of the unused medication pipettes and suck up some tank water, i drop this onto a clump of microworms on the lid, stir it around a bit and then suck it back up. this separates them slightly so i can drop several drops in different parts of the tank to spread it out for the babies.
