Feeding Frozen Triops To Fish?

I went to the lfs for bbs for my fry,but they didn't have any,but he did say triop is quite small and would be ok to feed,so went and gave me a lump of frozen triops.

Is this safe to use? before i feed my fish on it...

Frozen triops?

Not only are triops low in nutrition (much like adult brine shrimp), it doesnt at all make commercial sense for someone to raise them, freeze them and sell them. Triops aren't very straight forward to hatch and grow compared to things like brine shrimp, and much, much less of them hatch out. Unless they are wild caught and frozen - very unlikely too... they arent common and are protected in loads of countries, critically endangered in the UK - you would lose money doing this.

Are you sure they are triops?

How many are there?

Are they in a proper packet? Any pictures?

The lfs just knocked some off a big block,just looks like a brown slab,so could be anything

Defrost some and take pictures.

Maybe they were a day ahead of themselves when they said it was triops. Or maybe they got mixed up badly.

Are you sure they didn't say Cyclops?
