Feeding Bloodworms

I have actually got a new tank full of cardinal tetras and when i fed them bloodworms for the first time, most of the bloodworms crawled into the sand and i am afraid they will start breeding all over a contaminate the fish tank. I am also not so sure how many times i should feed my fish a week as i heard it clogs up their digestive system.

The fish will hunt down the worms so don't worry about that as long as your not over feeding.

The problem arises if you are over feeding then the worms are left to die off and rot which then causes water quality problems.

I feed all of my fish once a day,6 days a week,they should be able to clear the tank of food within 3-5 minutes.

When you do your weekly water changes give the tank a good going over with a gravel vac if you are worried about old food at the bottom.

Try not to over feed as that can cause countless problems with water quality and the fishes health.
