I started a jar of brine shrimp 36 hours ago for my fry, and only about 60 shrimp have hatched. I used 4 tablespoons of salt per gallon, and 1/8 of a teaspoon for each mason jar, and they have been kept at 70' but only few have hatched and it is not nearly enough to feed my 60+ fry.

I usually use the SanFransisco Bay brand mix if eggs and salt, but my LFS stopped selling it!

So my question, what can I feed them until I can get the shrimp to hatch???

If 70' means 70F, it will take a long time for them to hatch. They should hatch in 24 hours at 80F, for 1/8 teaspoon you only need about 1 liter of water. Those pre-mixed packets usually don't have that great of a hatch rate, you are better off buying artemia cysts online, and adding your own salt.

Bring up the heat, they will probably hatch in 12 hours. You are not saying how old the fry are, I start angel fry on flake at about 2 weeks, I grind flake to dust in a coffee grinder.

Hmm ok Raising the heat to 80'F. The jars are only 1 quart, so a littl over a liter if i am correct. I made up a gallon of salt water, so it will last me about 2 days with 2 jars.

The fry started free swimming yesterday evening, almost 12 hours ago.

As long as they have heat, aeration, and salt water they will generally hatch pretty well. Here's a link to the hatchery I built some time ago; http://www.fishforums.net/content/forum/13...hrimp-Hatchery/

The salt mix sounds a little weak, I use 2 tablespoons per about 1.5 liters of water. I also add a teaspoon of baking soda, and 3 drops of bleach. I can hatch up to one teaspoon this way.
