are the wild caught feeder guppies the same as endlers and what is the difference between that and a regular guppy? thanks

I was under the impression that "feeder guppies" were guppy/endler crosses, but I may have that totally wrong!

oh ok, i now just about nothing on the matter except that endlers are difficlut to get hold of , but do u think if i cross breed a female 'feeder' with my prized male guppy (he has the BEST colors of any guppy ive ever seen ) i would get something like a endler? :)

Are you in the US then? Endlers are pretty common in the UK as far as I can tell :)

I don't think you'd get something like an endler. It would just be more like a guppy as they would be larger with longer fins. Also endlers have quite specific colouration anything different is a guppy cross. However, I have heard that finding a "true" endler (meaning no guppy in the bloodline at all) is very rare nowadays. This is what they should looks like LINK and they are really tiny

A guppy, Poecilia reticulata, is not the same thing as an endler, Poecilia wingei, they are a completely different species. They both happen to be small, but the endler is far smaller, and they can interbreed, but so can many other common livebearers.
These are wild type P. wingei. I keep them in my own tanks.
