Fastest Way To Cycle Tank In Emergency?

Will do mate, we are testing ammonia and nitrite every day and have 2 x 25 containers ready, one for emptying and one for de-chlorinating and re-filling as often as needed. I also bought a digital ph tester and thermometer so we can be sure the new water is close to the original water.

Cheers

If you were lucky and your tank was instantly cycled with the media you will never get any readings of ammonia or nitrIte, but you will see the nitrAte level go up. These you want to keep between 5 and 15, nitrAte build up can build up to "old tank syndrome" where your fish may get used to the high toxins but any new additions will die very quickly!

Basically what you did was clone the tank, common practice when you have a lot of tanks, and are starting up & shutting them down depending on stocking.
