Can someone reccomend a good and quiet external filter for my 260 litre tank. I have a internL fluval u2 and u3. I also have a some plants that constantly make mess. So when it comes to cleaning my filter out. It all ends up back in the water as im taking the filter out. Im looking for something in the price range of 40 to 80 pounds. I plan to keep my u3 ajd replace the u2 with an external one. Please only recomend something if you have one! As noise is very important for me. It must be ultra quiet because noise bugs me and isnt good for the fish.

i can reccomend something to stop poop going back into the water if you want... turn the pump off, drain the tank (this slowly drains the filter without taking poop out with it), clean the pump out in the old tank water and then pop it back in.... but if you really want an external filter then a TT EX1200 would do i suppose.. just give my idea a try first ok... it could save you some.....

I recently asked the same question and there was a definite trend with the tetratec filters they come highly recommended so I will be purchasing one of those :)

I have an eheim classic and it is silent. Excellent filters and good value.

I have a long filter and decorations and plants underneath so not an option. Cheers.

I got the Plus model though, which comes with the stop-taps/valves to put in the tubing. These are extra otherwise.
