I want to install an external filter to my RIO 240 but i cannot get the internal unit our, it seems to be stuck to the glass, any suggestions, how did you get your unit out..????
Thanks your help

stanley knife or really sharp knife and cut the silicon holding the internal filter box.2 ticks(hopefully) and its done.

I put the Fluvel 204 on my rio 125 and its great.
Mine internal was stuck on with double sided sticky pads. Screw driverd them off carfully.

Eheim every time, SO much more reliable and all the spare parts are available from retailers. For a RIO 240 I would go for an Eheim 2213 or 2215, prices range from about £55 up to £85 for these 2.

I've only had experiences with Fluvel and had no problems. Maybe one day ill try a eheim if I get another tank. Hope mine diesnt bust now
