Hi guys

I have a FLUVAL 305 external filter for a new tank which I am going to set up upstairs, I am going to have it on a sideboard in a bedroom. This means that it wont fit underneath as there are drawers there. I assume since they are gravity driven it wont work next to the tank so I will have to keep it on the floor next to the sideboard. If I keep it on the floor next to the sideboard the tubes are not long enough to reach both ends. I can buy a replacement tube (that will reach) for a reasonable price but my question is - should I have the long tube as the inward or outward filter pipe? And Am I correct that I will need to keep it on the floor at the side?

Cheers

Have the long tube as the intake tube as then the filter motor wont have much load as the output pipe is the shortest.
